Abstract: In the television programs between the first broadcasts and the RAI reform of 1975, the reflection on the origins of fascism maintains a close relationship with the processes of nation-building and civic self-awareness, aimed at identifying the risks for democracy in order to defuse. A systematic analysis of broadcasts explicitly dedicated to the advent of fascism can contribute to understanding the views on that past of the ruling classes, the relationship between television and historiography, and the public memory of fascism. This is what we propose with this contribution.
Key Words: television, TV, Rai, fascism, primo dopoguerra, Italy, public memory.
